Buyer demand expected to rise as Stamp Duty threshold is increased

The Chancellor revealed plans to raise the stamp duty threshold from £125,000 to £500,000 in England and Northern Ireland, with the stamp duty holiday starting immediately and lasting until 31 March 2021. Additional property purchases will also benefit from the stamp duty holiday, however, the 3% high rate of the tax will also apply.

We believe this positive change will create additional buyer demand over the coming months, making summer and autumn 2020 appear a good time to consider putting your property on the market.
