Reimagining Renovations: Bungalow Beautiful with Studio Justice & Co

When his clients approached him with a dark, impractical bungalow, Oliver of Studio Justice & Co set about redesigning the property in a way that would honour and enhance its original design. Working from his independent practice in Frome, Oliver’s designs aim to reuse spaces and materials, viewing what others may consider constraints as opportunities.
Oliver’s unique approach to design can be seen throughout this reimagined bungalow, where a vaulted ceiling and carefully considered apertures create a light, bright and liveable space without the expense of a traditional loft conversion. By reusing the existing space, more budget could be allocated to the use of high-quality, natural materials and a stunning finish throughout.

Light and shadow play a large role in this clever design, with varying volumes of space allowing Oliver to control the lighting in different areas. From the central corridor you emerge into the impressive living area which is flooded with natural light, contrasting with the cosy living room positioned off to the side.
Oliver’s design has created a series of unique atmospheres within the home, providing spaces to cater for every aspect of daily life. With beautiful finishes, perfectly framed views, and a resource-conscious design, this project is a beautiful example of how we can reuse and reimagine the spaces that we live in.
