Bold and brave interiors: at home with Divine Savages

Jamie and Tom, the husband-and-husband team behind wallpaper and homeware brand Divine Savages, show us around their wildly stylish home in Bath, Somerset.
Drenched in their signature style, Jamie and Tom’s home is beautifully curated, colourful and full of surprises. Beyond the beautiful Georgian exterior with its zinc canopy and shuttered windows, lies a home full of pattern and personality - a true reflection of their fearless approach to design.
The renovation may be a work in progress, but Jamie and Tom have already put their stamp on several rooms - including the front lounge, which they affectionately call the ‘cocktail lounge’. Anchored by their Lovebirds wallpaper in Papaya, the room pulls its colour palette from this design, with rich orange velvet curtains, striking artwork, and complementary soft furnishings. The result is a scheme that channels decadent 1970s style, inspired by Tom’s love of vintage films and retro glamour.
In the ‘cinema room’, the couple have leaned into dark drama, teaming their Drunken Monkey wallpaper in Black & Gold with black paint and layered lighting. The room also houses Tom’s display of collectibles and memorabilia - a playful nod to his favourite films and animated characters.
Moving into the dining room, the mood shifts to a cosy, cottage feel. The walls are The Brambles wallpaper in Antique Rose which complements the original flagstones and Ca’Pietra terracotta tiles laid in the sun-flooded ‘nook’.
‘Naturally, we want to use our own designs in our house and then we kind of pull out whatever the kind of vibe is from that paper.’
While each room has a distinct style, the bedroom carries through the heritage charm of the dining room. With their Wild Wild Woods grasscloth wallpaper setting the tone, the painterly trees are mirrored in the leafy beyond from the bedroom window - framed by dramatic green curtains. In true Divine Savages style, there’s a surprise guest hiding in the wallpaper: the mythical Beast of Bodmin, posed beneath the branches.
At the top of the stairs you’re greeted by ZaZa Gaboor, the couple’s ostrich mount - adopted from a sustainable taxidermist during their time living in London. This flair for the flamboyant runs throughout the house, from a collectible Cher Barbie on display in the cocktail lounge, to disco balls and ceramic tigers. Each room is an absolute treat - a joyful celebration of unapologetic self-expression. You leave wanting to bring a little bit of the same magic to your own home.
