Artist Collaboration: Naomi Wilkinson x 16 Tonne Press
“The idea behind the design is that first night where you move in and you look around and it’s chaotic, but it’s OK because you’re in.”
For our latest artist collaboration, we commissioned Bristol-based illustrator Naomi Wilkinson, to create a limited edition artwork that would serve as a memento of move-in day for new Boardwalk homeowners.
Working from Easton, Naomi is an illustrator with a playful, energetic style. Combining colour and character in uplifting arrangements, she creates joyful artwork with a sprinkling of silliness.
Naomi's design was Risograph printed by 16 Tonne Press, an independent Riso and screen-print specialist based in Pensford on the outskirts of Bristol. Riso is a mechanical printing process, where the printer creates a stencil wrapped around an ink-filled drum that spins and transfers impressions onto paper.
Naomi's Risograph prints used three soy-based inks layered on top of each other, creating a vibrant and textured finish.
