Property details

'Prior to moving here we had been in Bristol for over 8 years but knew very little about St George (and east Bristol more generally). So in many ways it was a complete gamble for us but we completely lucked out, and went on to discover all the hidden gems this area has to offer.

Living here has been so easy given you have everything you need on the doorstep, including Church Road which has a palpable buzz about it. It hosts a range of cafes, bars and amenities to cater for all manner of tastes and needs, our favourites being The Red Church, Orchard Café, The Red Flower Barrow (where we get our Christmas tree every year) and Poco Deli….to name but a few.

But the Crown Jewels has to be St George Park, which in our opinion is Bristol’s best! It single handedly kept us sane during lockdown, and has everything you could possibly want from a park (including coffee hut, play area, skate park, tennis courts, ornamental lake, veg patch, beautiful trees, lots of wildlife and an outdoor amphitheatre). The park also plays host to Redfest every autumn, being Bristol’s best kept secret within the festival scene.

The house itself has served us incredibly well as a young family, offering well portioned rooms throughout, a manageable garden, plenty of storage space and of course the charming period features you typically get with most Victorian houses. There isn’t an inch we haven’t loved / sought to improve since we moved here back in 2017, and so the stage is perfectly set for its next occupants!'

Cossham Road is situated in St George, between Church Road and Avonview Cemetery, which occupies a large space above the River Avon and its riverside walks. St George’s Park is across Church Road and is one of the city’s most popular parks providing a kids play area, tennis courts, a cafe, a skate park, and a lake.

St George has many exciting independent shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. The shops and cafes of Easton are also easily accessible via the Bristol to Bath cycle path. There are also several well-regarded schools in the area, meaning this is a popular area with families.

Placed on Cossham Road this well presented two bedroom double bay fronted Victorian home is full of character and charm. Upon entry you are met by stunning restored wooden floorboards that lead through to the dining room which acts as the heart of the house. The dining room continues the theme of wooden floorboards and accommodates an exposed brick chimney breast with bespoke shelving either side. The living room has full height shutters on the bay, an exposed brick fireplace and sliding door that offers seclusion for a relaxing evening. To the back of the property, the kitchen comprises wooden work surfaces that run either side of the room and includes a breakfast bar, integrated AEG appliances and plentiful cupboard space. The first floor comprises two double bedrooms, as well as a bathroom with separate bath and shower, with heated towel rack and basin with drawers. The garden has been astro-turfed with raised plant beds and space for an adjacent bike shed and DIY storage unit.

For commuters, it is a short journey into Bristol City Centre by bus, train, bike or car, whilst also being just a short drive from Bath. From this side of the City Centre, Bristol Temple Meads is just a short journey away.
