Property details

"Whenever we mention we live on Stackpool Road people always say ‘are you in that beautiful cul de sac?’ All the neighbours are extremely friendly and without the passing car and foot traffic, it is really peaceful whilst also being just a short walk to the local shops on North Street, the Harbourside and Windmill Hill City Farm. There are so many choices of plastic-free shops and locally sourced food you are spoilt for choice. We also love being able to walk to Aldi for great bargains! From our top window, you can see the suspension bridge, look across the city views to Brandon Hill and take in the greenery of Ashton Court. Being able to walk into the city and also be in the nearby countryside of North Somerset within 15 minutes has given us such a range of choices and opportunities. Our children have been so excited to watch the hot air balloons gracefully glide over the house, there is nothing quite as magical!"

Stackpool Road is a prime road in Southville and this house is one of the few that is situated in the cul-de-sac, which is arguably the best end of the road. As it’s a no through road it is incredibly quiet with a fabulous sense of community amongst residents. It is very close to the bridge across the River Avon to the Wapping Wharf area which is bursting with independent restaurants and cafes from its cargo containers. North Street in Southville is very nearby and is home a number of popular bars and eateries such as The Malago, the popular Souk Kitchen, Kask as well as highly regarded cafes such as Sweven and Albatross Cafe. Further still is a short walk to Bristol City Centre and for those who work in the city, the commute by foot or bike is short and painless, whilst the journey home after an evening in a city is also straightforward and advantageous on foot rather than negotiating city centre traffic. Over the river to the west is the high-end development ‘The General’ with Michelin star restaurants Paco Tapas. Beyond these is Bristol’s scenic harbourside with its boat trips and water-facing bars and restaurants.

The house is an exceptionally pretty double bay fronted Victorian terrace with a walled front garden and original checkerboard tiles. The original Victorian front door still has the stain glass above it as does the porch door as you enter. At the front of the house is a spacious living room with bay window, cornicing, fireplace and stripped wood floors. To the rear is the dining room where the stripped wood floors continue and there is an original Victorian fireplace with cupboards to the side and this then leads to the kitchen and the utility area. The kitchen has a Belfast sink and window out to the garden and there is a utility area with glass roof and door to the garden which has both a decked area for outdoor eating and a large vegetable patch which could also be used as a lawn. Upstairs the first floor has three bedrooms and a bathroom, the bedroom at the front of the house is unusually large with a pretty original fireplace and fitted cupboards and there is a loft bedroom with an en-suite shower room and fantastic views across Bristol.
