Lone Rambler - Local Leather Artisan
Found along Bristol’s iconic Christmas Steps, Lone Rambler imbibes the nostalgia and heritage of the area's manufacturing history.
The leather goods store doubles up as the personal workshop of its owner Filip. A native Transylvanian, he moved to Bristol 8 years ago and found his creative home amongst the city’s talented craftspeople.
“I want to put myself in a place where there is a backbone of making stuff.”
The store is the culmination of hands-on experience that Filip gained working with some of Bristol’s top artisans. Combining his knowledge of sewing, carpentry, and leather, Filip creates quality products that are made to be used and loved for years to come.
“Knowing what you are using, and sourcing responsibly I think is very important. I think it’s a responsibility for all of us - whatever you buy, whatever you make.”
The leather used at Lone Rambler comes from a local Bristol tannery located in Bedminster, a mere mile and a half down the river. During his time working in the tannery, Filip developed a deep understanding and respect for leather that is evident in his craftsmanship.
Filip embodies the creative spirit of Bristol. His talents and appreciation of local heritage have come together to create something truly special in Lone Rambler.
