Ten years in the making, The Vintners is a thoughtfully designed family home in the heart of Bradford-on-Avon. Led by a deep appreciation for historic buildings, Architect Klas Hyllén set out to blend modern design with the character of this Grade II listed former wine warehouse - creating a balanced and sympathetic design that preserved the integrity of the building.

As you walk through the home you’re surrounded by beautifully preserved original features, including exposed brick walls, beams, and cast iron columns. These industrial elements are complemented by the galvanised steel window frames and doors to the rear of the house - a reinterpretation of warehouse design with contemporary materials.
The internal layout fluctuates between a spacious, open plan living space on the ground floor, and intimate, cosy spaces on the upper floors. Ascending the sculptural suspended staircase, you come to the inviting snug room, which has windows through to design elements old and new. Through the internal windows, you capture perfectly framed glimpses of historic design sitting alongside Klas’s modern insertions.
